Evolution. A word sought by every person who respects themselves. So easy to say, yet so difficult to truly bring to life.

Musical diversity and authenticity. Two more ideas that are very easy to mention, but incredibly difficult to achieve in practice. Especially in a reality where almost everything seems to have already been done, most possible combinations have already been explored, and countless ideas have already been born in the mind of some artist.

Within this reality, Dymna Lotva emerge from Belarus with the fourth album of their career, “Vyraj”. A truly rebellious post-black metal work that refuses to remain confined within the boundaries of the genre, venturing without fears into doom, goth, folklore and even electronic music.

The result is a refreshing escape from the ordinary with Dymna Lotva proving that they remain restless and never satisfied with the established order. They are not afraid to experiment ,search for new paths and introduce different elements into their music. For that courage, I truly take my hat off to them!

After all, how could this rebellious spirit not overflow into their music, when the band’s founding members were forced to leave their homeland due to political persecution? Alexander Lukashenko’s regime attempted to censor and suppress their art. Yet they not only refused to remain silent, but transformed oppression and resistance into creative strength.

The idea behind the title of the new album, “Vyraj”, is equally powerful ! Vyraj is a mythical place to which birds migrate during the winter and where souls find their final rest. A beautiful connection between darkness and the endless need and longing to return to a familiar place.

The album’s artwork completes the picture perfectly. It is based on a real photograph taken from a small family cemetery in a Belarusian village that is slowly fading away, during the Perseid meteor shower. A magical result!

Dymna Lotva refuse to remain stagnant, and with “Vyraj” they follow new paths. A bold, deeply personal, and restless work from a band that does not treat evolution as a simple word, but as a genuine artistic necessity!

Follow Dymna Lotva into their own beautiful and dark world. You will not regret it!
