Countless Goodbyes announces their genesis, introducing a new surprising sound to fans and lovers of metal and rock with the release of their long-awaited debut album, Cycles. The forthcoming record is set to be released on April 19th, 2019. As Metal Revolt we had the opportunity to speak with the band and learn more about them!
•Hello and thank you for this interview. How are you?
Good morning and thank you for having us. Days are getting brighter in Finland and we are moving towards summer so it’s going well!
•What are your dreams and goals with “Countless Goodbyes”? What is the story behind the band’s name?
First of all, we enjoy spending time together as a band and create inspiring music. We love playing live shows so after the debut album “Cycles” is released, our goal is to tour as much as we can.The band name was inspired by one of our oldest songs back in 2010 when we started playing music together. The name looked good on paper and we liked the sound of it,so we decided to go with that.
•Your debut will be released with the help of Inverse Records. How do you feel about it?
We are excited to work with Inverse Records, they are perfect match for our current situation as an artist that is gaining its ground in metal scene. We really believe that Inverse Records will push us forward and help us to take the next step as a band.
•How things worked out during the recording process of your debut? How much satisfied are you with the final result?
We recorded the album with Markus Suomela from M/S Audio Productions in Vantaa, Finland, and he was such a nice guy to work with. The recording process was actually a learning process for us since we haven’t had any previous experience of recording full length album. However,we are really pleased with the final result, it was really satisfying to see how our visions were concretized in to such a coherent album.
•Can you describe us the lyrical theme of your songs? What inspires your lyrics and music?
Our singer Onni Kivikaarre, among other topics,is singing about the present course of the world toward potential man-made ruin which the cover art of Cycles refers to.
•What’s next for your band?
Now, we’ll enjoy the fruits of our hard work and we are excited to see what opportunities the release of “Cycles” will bring for us!
•Are there live dates coming?
April 25:Tampere, Finland –Jack The Rooster
April 26:Pori, Finland –Rock Bar Monttu
May 3:Rauma, Finland –Kulttuuri kuppila Brummi
