I’m extremely excited… not just excited… VERY excited! And believe me, you should be too!
Before I even heard the first note, I came across a few words that were enough on their own to put me in a state of eager anticipation. If words like cinematic, symphonic, and death metal sound like a promise of something truly special to you as well, then trust me: you are going to love what i have here for you today!
So, let’s get straight to the point…. Today I’m listening at “GORE” by the Ukrainian act ERSEDU, a band operating in the realm of “Cinematic Symphonic Death Metal.” And that description alone is enough to immediately grab the attention of any listener who loves bands like our very own Septic Flesh. For fans of that sound, a release like this feels almost like an early Christmas gift!
“GORE,” which will be released on May 19th, 2026, is a conceptual EP and marks the first chapter in a series dedicated to colors. It begins with red, the first color perceived by the human eye and one of the earliest colors used by humanity in art and rituals.
Thematically, the EP explores red as a multi-layered symbol: death and sacrifice, blood and life, pain, passion, and love. All of these ideas are woven together into a dark, heavy, and deeply emotional musical world!
The EP does not exceed 20 minutes in length, yet it’s absolutely captivating from the very first second to the last! ERSEDU manage to take you on a journey with their orchestral arrangements while at the same time, hitting you with dark, imposing and extreme metal outbursts!
Musically, the band combines powerful orchestral arrangements with extreme metal, creating a sound that is dark, intensely cinematic, but also crushingly heavy and brutal!
Beyond the music itself, “GORE” is also accompanied by a visual artbook that expands the EP’s universe even further, filled with symbolism, hidden details, and visual elements corresponding to each track. All of this shows that ERSEDU do not approach their music as just a collection of songs, but as a complete artistic experience.
It should also be noted that the creation of “GORE” took four years instead of one, as the production process was deeply affected by the war in Ukraine, giving the release an even “rawer” and “darker” dimension.
ERSEDU arrive with a very powerful EP release ready to shake things up, and it absolutely deserves your attention and support!
