Eluveitie – Evocation II / Pantheon
Having released three albums in the well known and beloved “Eluveitie style” and of course having already won a high position in the metal community, Chrigel Glanzmann decided it was time for the band to try another acoustic album.
Eight years after the release of their first acoustic work “Evocation I”, the melodic-death / folk metal band from Switzerland returns with their second similar effort, “Evocation II / Pantheon”!
This album is another journey back in time, to the mysterious culture of the Celts and their mythology! It is worth mentioning that Eluveitie, with the help of researchers and scientists, had been able to write and reproduce the lyrics in their original ancient form, which makes all the album unique!
Every part of the “Evocation II” is dedicated to a deity of the mythology of Celts but also is connected with the history of the band. In each song the speed, the intensity, the musical variety (ie the participating organs ) changes according to the divinity it represents. That’s how each song or rather each minute of the new album will be a special and magical experience for the listener.
Personally, I always love such original efforts, and what makes me even more happy is that the new line up, shows us that is talented enough to continue on the road that we would like to see this band.
Eluveitie gives us a first-class opportunity to come closer to their past, the history of their people and it is up to us to follow them on this great journey!
